E85 Fuel Filter You Using???
I was wondering what fuel filter people are using that are running E85. I put an inline filter on to tuck the lines. I am using a Russell 6AN 40 micron that measures about 1.5" OD x 3" long. I am putting down 515whp and my tuner says that I need to run a bigger filter. He says it should be as big or bigger than the fuel pump, at least 2"x4". He said I could go back to the stock filter (I was using an AEM replacement filter), but I didn't think paper filters were good with E85. Just wanted to hear what people were using as far as size and micron. Thanks.
I'm running the Russell 649000. -8 in/out, 10 micron. Paper is fine as long as its rated for Ethanol. You want some smaller than 35 micron downstream of the pump.
Just changed over for e85 (actually going to run e98 more than likely) and I am running an Aeromotive filter housing with stainless element.

If your not concerned with looks and your not running an excessive fuel pressure (you shouldn't have to with an efficient fuel system) I'd use a fuel filter from a 2010 Ford E350. If it can handle enough fuel for a 5.4 liter V8, I'd think it could handle a lil honda motor
The reason I mention looks/no excessive pressure... it's a clamp-on style filter.

A micron is a unit of measure, like an inch. So a 100 micron hole is 10X bigger than a 10 micron hole.
If you're running a 255 in-tank with a filter on it, the fuel is being filtered down to 25 microns as it enters the pump. Installing a 100 micron filter after it will accomplish absolutely nothing.
Just like putting window screen under a coffee filter. The window screen won't catch anything the coffee filter didn't.

The ID injectors comes with 7 micron filters in them.... so you should want a filter than is less than 7 microns. Fuel lab makes a 6 micron filter which has a removable element that you can clean out... never worry about your injectors clogging again... just check the removable filter at oil changes (every other) and your good to go!
