no way, you need to have a solid 11.8-12.0 straight line regardless of pump or race.

you're afr line sucks, you want a straight line. </TD></TR></TABLE>

I must agree... clean up your air fuel and you will see power levels like this also at the high rpm advance the timing some more depending on the octane it will bring up the power band a little more . Also a little larger cam will help bring up the power curve as well. I say throw those stage 2 cams in thier but retard the intake cam a little... Good luck and Happy Boosting

No we had race fuel in the whole time. But we were concearned with the quality of what I came with so we got some from them. But then it ran worse. I think whoever said that hotter plugs may have been needed was right because the plugs looked pretty dark grey after the new gas was put in.

Engine is sound leakdown proved ~10% corss the board and compression was ~180 across the board

My haltech base timing is synced in and stays in sync with the motor as revs increase.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Johnyquest &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> but why didn't you up the boost if you were on race gas? It would have been nice to see a 25-30psi pull... and might have explained some things.</TD></TR></TABLE>

We did raise the boost on this gas to about 23 psi but that yielded the same HP as the previous gas on 18psi this was just the only map I printed as all had similar shape.

Maybe its the cams I am going home shortly to change these out, only problem is my damn Innovate Wideband ******* quit working on me so I dont know what I am gonna do about that

thanks for all the input

haha 10% leakdown is terrible if it's all past the rings.

haha no its not and actually my gauge only goes down to 10% then just says set below that so like #2 was at ~9-10 and the rest were lower like around 4-5% and since cyl 2 got scratched pretty bad when my motor let go and I just honed it b/c I didnt want to step up to a 84mm bore I would say that is fine I just didnt feel like writing all this. So sorry on my part for not specifying

I for one KNOW that bad leakdown #'s will yield NO power. I would definatelly check that out if it is pulling 10%. That could be a major source of your problems. Good luck.

You're kidding right? 10% leakdown on a turbo motor will hardly change power at all. We've run 8's with 60-80% leakdown all across the board from bad valve seats.

Thank You, I am also confident that leakage is playing a role in any of this.

For now I am going to go with the cams and tuning that are being my problem. So I am out right now with a broken diff but hopefully be able to get back soon for some tuning.

Hey tony1 just off hand how much power could someone actually stand to gain off of a good tune.

I know you didn't ask me, but i'd say you stand to gain as much as 50whp from a good tune.

Well, depends how far off you are to begin with. A "good" tune doesn't always yeild the most power. Alot of people seem to forget that. A "good" tune is one that makes good power, gets good gas milage, runs smooth at all times, and is RELIABLE! I see alot of cars that make good power, but what you don't hear about is when the blow up from too much timing or being too lean. So, there's no way to really say how much is to be gained for a good tune without seeing your car and your maps.
