Default dyno graph and setup

***updated at bottom

got tuned saturday morning. first time putting a car on the dyno, first b-series swap
head=
usdm b16
skunk2 springs/retainers
gsr cams
victor x manifold
precision 550cc
68mm tb

block=
b20b, stock internals
kms girdle
gsr oil pump, baffle, and pick-up
moroso oil pan
arp studs

old BMC not so equal length manifold
turbonetics evolution wastegate
turbonetics BB t3/t04e 60-1
streetimports front mount, w/ 2.5" piping to intercooler, 3" to throttle body
greddy bov
3" downpipe with 3" exhaust all the way to the back, no muffler

endyne breather kit
golden eagle vacum manifold

aem ems tuned by MASE @ stage 6
[IMG][/IMG]

wastegate held a solid 10.3psi
haveing a problem with the vtec selonoid at low rpm, mase couldnt figure it out, and i think i put the oil passage plug in to far and its messing with the oil pressure. below 1500+- rpm motor sounds real loby and rough, but go above that and it smoothes out instantly. even driving very slow, it putters and then when it hits that point it jerks forward and smooths out.
but at the same time vtec SCREAMS when i hit 5k.

any suggestions???

feels alot different from my old sohc turbo setup. notice peak hp is at redline, so it constantly pulls harder up until that point.

looks like some serious boost creep to me with that torque curve that keeps climbing like that. When is it hitting full boost?

lol, solid 10.3lbs? That thing is boost creeping bad, that's the only explanation for torque to increase like that at high rpm.

he did 14 pulls on the dyno, and it hit and stayed there within a couple tenths each time. using stock map sensor, and he was worried at first, but it never went past that.

That car does not have the same boost at 5500 that it does at 8300. There's no way it would pick up 70lbs of torque between those points if it didn't have boost creep. I hope you're not going by the stock map sensor when you say it stayed at 10.3, cause the stock map sensor pretty much stops reading there anyways.

yea i agree. Boost is not solid at 10.3 whatsoever. Its either hitting that boost level real late or going way past it by redline.

like i said this is my first dyno session and first time getting a real tune. i really dont know a whole lot about it except for what the tuner said. but just looking at the graph it does seem a little stange that peak numbers are at redline.

your using your stock map sensor right? does that max out at 10.3 or 11.3? wouldnt it look like it just sits there but its actually increasing?

stock map sensor. the tuner i used, MASE, has tune alot of cars. i can only trust he did everything correct. i even had a 2.5bar map with me, and said it wasnt necessary as long as i didnt go any higher, and i dont plan on it.

Either it was peaking at 10.3 at redline, or it was creeping past that, but boost was not solid throughout the run, that's for sure.

ok, thanks for the input, how do i fix this?
and also, besides the apparent boost creep, i think torque is a little low, or is this look normal for what i have?

Do you have an actual boost gauge in the car you can monitor. With a tq curve like that you should be able to tell what the boost is doing.

Mase sent me the log from that run, it's peaking right at 10.9psi at redline, and around 8psi at 5k

yes i have a boost gauge, thats what i was watching during the dyno runs, and thats why i have been argueing this. i didnt watch it every run, but when i did, especially the first few runs, it never got close to 11, it would sit right above 10.

hey,

the car is boost creeping,

remember how i was explaining with those types of manifolds sometimes they dont regulate boost as well? its not creeping much, but still a little.

it goes from 8 psi at 5000 to 10.5-10.7 ish at redline.

Did you look at the wiring for the vtec solenoid? again, try disconnecting the wire at idle, and see if vtec turns off. if not, it could be something mechanical.

hey, good to hear from you. i guess it was creeping. i tried to get ahold of you today at stage6, wanted to know what you had the fuel pressure set at? i fixed the vacum manifold, and pressure now is like 58. and i tried a different vtec solenoid, didnt do anything different. after work i will unplug it and see what happens.

UPDATE.
the weekend after i got tuned i pulled the head and fixed the oil passage plug, i had put it in to far and it was raising oil pressure in the head and seemed to be locking vtec on. after i fixed it, it had a pretty noticeable amount of more torque. the next weekend i met up with a guy who has a 450whp supercharged cobra. even though i had to feather the gas to keep traction, he had no chance. but then it happened, the biggest cloud of smoke/steam i have ever seen.
