ok i am puttin on my turbo **** and i am makin all the piping my self from the IC piping to the DP,and i am in the middle of the dumptube,i have a few ? on the dunptube-ok does it blow hot air out all the time like the DP or only when i hit boost or what? and what do u think i should do about how close it is to the turbo and the cupler here is a pic[IMG][/IMG]

please let me know i need ur help,do u think it would be ok or no

p.s i know the welds r bad i just tak welded it for now

only blows out hot air when you reached your desired boost level, for whatever u have it set for. Ex if u have a 8lb spring and no boost controller, it'll open once you see those 8lbs and keep it at 8 and be constantly blowing out the exhaust while you are boosting those 8 lbs. understand? and i really can't see anything in that picture

looks like an SSautochrome brace goin on there. def to close to the coupler, it will melt pretty much instantly.

 

You need to take a better/more clear picture. I can't really see what's going on in that one.

But like ICeDoUt said, the wastegate opens up once you reach your desired boost level and lets all that exhaust out through the dumptube. And yes, it will get HOT.

 

depending on the quality of the coupler it should be fine...but i would try and get it farterh away from the coupling...and are far as possible away from the compressor...

and cummon guys pic is not that hard to see...just takes a lil lookin to get it all arraged...

Yeah it should be fine. Not a big deal anyway, only risk is a burnt/melted coupler and a boost leak.

 

I consider the dumptube like a temporary second downpipe. I wouldn't put a coupler on my downpipe, like someone else said it'll melt pretty much instantly.
