Default Dual Wastegates?

Been tryin to find some info, saw a setup and piqued my curiosity.

When do you need them?
Why do you need them?
Where are the wastegates setup in the system?

Only inquiring about single turbo applications.
Did a search, but nothin came up.

When do you need them?
-When a spit scroll turbine housing is used(not 100% necessary)

Why do you need them?
-to stop overlapping exhaust events from mingling and to improve spool times

Where are the wastegates setup in the system?
-Ideally one should be on runners 1-4 and the other on 2-3...

Appreciate the answer, can they be used on a standard manifold? I've heard of using one to regulate mani pressure and the other regulating boost?

some applications demand 2 wastegates in order to run low boost. sometimes a single wastegate can't evacuate enough exhaust gases around a turbocharger.

So you mean putting a wg on the chargepipe?... I've heard a lot of people are doing this with race cars. Why? I haven't bothered to think about it...

its hard to control boost pressure when you run a big turbo at a low psi, the turbo overpowers the wastegate. so by adding a second one, you get more control.

so how is the second wastegate controlled? do you add another solenoid to the boost controller to control it?
