Re: dual exhaust setup... haters?
Hoping to have some sounds clips in the next few weeks... waiting on the Modified Speed Factory Shift Holder Assembly before the Transmission goes back in the car...
If the sound is to loud... I think im going to throw in 2 100 cell 3" mil.spec cat converters... apparently the 600whp lambo murcielagos are using 2 200 cell cats so the 100 cell should not restrict the flow i need to meet my power goal of 700whp especially since I would be putting them towards the middle/back of the car... but im only speculating because I may not even need them...

Re: dual exhaust setup... haters?
would placing the cats that far back leave them to cold to do any work
this would then cause them to clog up with soot ect
why not put in another resonator

Re: dual exhaust setup... haters?
I know that the Time Attack EVO for AMS made over 700whp and they were using a single 3" exhaust with one of these cats as the tail pipe... Hopefully someone with more knowledge on this subject will chime in...
I wouldnt mind having the first 700whp honda with cats on it though lol.... pretty sure that would be a first...

..im just worried about those hot exhaust gasses bombarding your lca's... could cause premature bushing failure or even cause the lca to fail... the heat cycling will make the aluminum brittle.

Re: dual exhaust setup... haters?
The cats will really lose their effectiveness by placing them so far downstream.. It may work if you give it lots of warm up time, but may never function at all either if there is just too much heat loss before the cat(s).
The drawbacks with placing a cat so far downstream is the fact that these cats need heat (and lots of it) to self-clean and prevent them from clogging up. The cats may clog up rather prematurely, unless you decide to do a multiple 4th gear highway pulls like every few days to get them up to temperature...LOL!

i agree. Really nice work. It gives me inspiration as i wanted to do a similar setup previously since my bumper has a cutout for two exhausts

Thanks for all the nice comments.
On the passenger side there is actually a hanger in place that had to be put in to make sure the pipes lined up properly in the tunnel (left to right) and the pipes inside the tunnel are actually connected together at two locations with a small block of aluminum.

Figured I would respond to the same thread... the exhaust is now for the most part completed. Notice the addition of the two panels to the left and ride of the rear exit. I think they really cleaned it up nicely.
While I know this is a technical thread... I think this goes to prove that you can make big power out of a 4 banger, using mufflers for sound control, and still create something different looking.

It's amazing what those 2 panels did to the look... Very impressive. I'd like to hear this beast, when are you going to post up a new video?

Re: dual exhaust setup... haters?
So I did some measurements and found that these mufflers would fit in the location of the gas tank.

I am looking to get rid of the borla mufflers (straight) and replace them with a quieter muffler. I am looking to see if anyone knows if the Super Turbo muffler will flow 400whp on its own? I will have two of them so I should be able to confidently make 700whp with this exhaust setup.
FYI (I made 670whp on the dyno and then the oil pump cracked and I am in the processes of putting the car back together)

Re: dual exhaust setup... haters?
That is one of the best threads I have read in a while. Top notch photos and fab skills!
I never really thought that a video of the exhaust could capture the nuance of the sound like really being there. The point is your happy and have impressed the masses. I'm impressed at least.
I have purchased a quick time performance electric cut-out to install very similarly to your dual split; only with a full muffler on the pass side and an open dump on the other side when the nitrous is activated.
That is a very inspiring build and the trim work is bad *** all the way.

Subbing.
I thought this would be a bash fest, but Jen you're shooting for 700whp, who cares?
Why not look into twinloop mufflers or build your own?
I know dual 4" twinloop mufflers would be awesome.

Re: dual exhaust setup... haters?
I am thinking of going with dual 3" dynomax super turbo chambered mufflers... pretty much the most restrictive muffler i have found that can still flow up to 400whp each. I have tried to find a pair of stock TT supra mufflers but they are not available anywhere.
The car has been broke for nearly a year. The oil pump cracked so its been in need of some motor work. I have been saving money to do the work for a while now. Im replacing the 6265 with a 6266 turbo, the 9:1 pistons with 10:5:1 84mm pistons, an ATI damper, and of course the new mufflers (whatever they may be)
