dsm injector seal problem, please help
dont know which section i should post this in but...i got some reman. dsm blue tops that came with no seals, i bought the seal kits from napa BUT, the bottom plastic piece that goes on is wayy too long. i see that some of the other dsm injectors use this long piece but not the blue tops, and its the only seal kit they list.
the pics are just for reference, see how the one on the bluetop is short and the pintle sticks out...the other pic is the seal kit listed by napa. could i just cut that piece down to fit, is it really necessary?

if i remember this right, been over 10 years since i put those injectors in a honda. you'll only use the two seals on the right of the pic on your injectors. the factory seals on your intake manifold go on the bottom but they need enlarged because the dsm injector is fatter and make sure the fit all the way down in the intake manifold. some manifolds need the holes drilled larger. the bottom of the injector seats way different in a 4G63than a honda.
i get how to put them in there, already dremeled out the seals on the intake manifold and all that...but the plastic piece that goes on the tip of the injector is my problem. the piece on the far left in the pic of the seals, its about twice as long as it needs to be. does it really need to even be on there? or should i cut it to fit.
