Default dsm Bov questions

will a dsm bov work for a 400+ hp turbo setup on a b18c1? Just got one for a good price but not sure itll handle the amount of boost.

I've personally seen them hold 20psi on a big 16g....you can always crush it to hold a little more boost.

The dsm bov owns for the money

And its not "I'm an attention *****" loud when you vent into the atmosphere either, yet sounds great.

I've heard rumers of crushed 1'st gens holding 22+ psi no problem, I run one uncrushed on my setup. I love everything about it.

I don't understand why you want to run 2. (well I think I might have a hunch but I'm biting my tongue for now)

Its not like you need to run 7866lbs of boost to meet your power goals.

well seeing as how ive spent over 2 grand on the motor alone not including the turbo yet....I figure maybe one bov (since stock) wouldnt handle the amount of boost I wanted...and the last thing I need is boost pressure not being release properly and damaging something..... and what are you biting your toungue about im not sure what your talking about?

In for a penny, in for a pound - I'd suggest getting better hardware if you're so spendy on other parts of the build. Not that the DSM won't work, there are just better options for not much more than 2 DSM's.

I was just thinking you wanted it for the "Im a stunna and I have 2 bov's" reason ... don't take any offense to it because it looks like that is not the case for you and I tend to make stupid comments at times heh.

What size turbo and boost level do you plan to run at?

There are plenty of aftermarket bov's that can likely hold the boost that you want to run, plus 400whp can be achieved boosting less than 20psi (depending on the turbo of course) Figure you spent $2k on the motor build why skimp out on what you built the motor for?

Only reasoning I see behind running 2 is possibly less spool time between shifts since it'll vent the air faster :shrugs:

The dsm can work, as I said I've seen them hold 20psi with my own eyes, but if you want to be on the safe side you can find turboxs bov's for pretty cheap, especially used. Either the turboxs type h, type h34, or rfl. I've seen them go for around 150-175 brand new.

Here's an rfl I just found for $80 https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1399885. RFL is rated to hold up to 25lbs.

Here it is brand new for $169 http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku
