DSM 450's on a 98 civic?
getting ready to wire my injectors in and just read over the nice tech article Jeff Frank wrote up
Now I was wondering if my factory 98 civic plugs will only require that little keyway to be removed
some friends of mine seem to think that writeup applies only to 92-95 civics and that I am going to need some clips

Even if you can file the injectors or plugs to fit (which isn't possible on a 98), it's not a good idea. When you do that, the plugs no longer "snap" into place.
If one of these plugs ever rattles loose, you could blow your motor. Not worth it IMO, just get new plugs.

obd2 will need clips or the little conversion harnesses i was telling you about before when you were asking about the rc injectors. pretty much the same idea with any commonly used injectors for honda

Forget filing.
Heat up a coat hanger (wear gloves dumbasses) and melt that tab inside the injector off. I did this for my DSM's on my 97 civ.
Ran just fine for years. Its still snaps into place cause of the metal clip on the outside. The tab is just a guide.

You cannot change the clips in any way on 96+ civic to fit dsm injectors. OBD II clips are way different.
If you have a 92-95 you can modify the clips as the car is obd I.
Lets stop spreading wrong info, it put me in a bind when I was doing my install for the first time.
Also I agree, new clips are easy to get and cheap to boot!
