Re: DSM 450cc resistor setup: inline resistors vs. resistor box (fnananon)
when i start my car with dsm 450s and inline resistors, it takes about 5 seconds to crank my car. once it is started it idles at 3 grand for abotu 30 seconds, then dies down to 750. When i come to a stop it always goes up to 1500 for like 5 seconds then comes down to 750 in a weird way. i dont know wtf is up with these things but its just bizarre. ive learned to live with it i guess.

do you think it was the injectors? or just the resistors? was it easy to wire the resistors?

i have wired up the 450 injectors with a resistor box on my 95 hatch and i love it. i can not even tell that i changed out the injectors. the car starts and idles perfect everytime never had any problems of high idle or having to wait to start my car.

alot of people have problems with the 450's and hot starts for some reason. I think its due to the in line or resistor box in an application which is set up for saturated injectors. If you wire it up right then there shouldnt be a problem with the inline or resistor box.

I've run both methods for my DSM 450's (so many motor setups.....) and for ease of use the inline 10w/10ohm resistors are my choice.
With that said, a properly wired setup will not give you any issues, whichever method you decide to use.

In theory it really shouldn't matter. The resistor box is just that: a box with resistors inside. If you're interested in a resistor box for much less than you can buy one for, buy a small project box for ~$3 while you're at Radio Shack and throw the resistors inside it. Drill a few holes for the wires, and you have yourself a resistor box.

Re: DSM 450cc resistor setup: inline resistors vs. resistor box (94TurboGSR)
Can i make my own inline resistors form Radio shack?? What is involved, just splicing the wire and soldering in the resistor?
Also, anyone know what rating the resistors have to be?

Hey champ, read my post and you'll have your answer.
or I could just ell you......
10 watt / 10 ohm.
They're about 2" long, and 1/4" wide.
