dry nitrous question
im looking in to running the zex dry system on my DA. its a stock b18a with i/e and an upgraded clutch. my question is i have access to a walbro 255 fuel pump for a good price, is that a good idea? and is there a way to have the nitrous turn off before the rev limiter in case i accidently hit it?? im kinda nervous since this is my only car and i wanna make sure i cover all my bases. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks will

Might not be necessary with a small shot, but yes, get it regardless.

Yes, it's called a window switch. I used one when I was spraying my single cam. Turn off the nitrous like 100 RPM before the redline to make sure it's all out of the system.
I don't want to turn this into a for sale thread, but you have PM.

Re: dry nitrous question (mrx)
well the zex kit adds more fuel through the factory fuel system and i believe zex recomends retarding the base timing 2 degrees. i think im gonna add the used walbro fuel pump and a bottle heater. ive heard of some people running an adjustable fpr and bumping the base fuel pressure like 10 psi. is this a good idea just to be on the save side? once again any ideas/comments are greatly appreciated

Re: dry nitrous question
I'm in the same spot. whats a safe shot to put on a stock b18a. I"m thinking about having a 40shot, set up like: nitrous will be off in 1st gear then it will come on in 2nd gear at 5,000 rpm.
I want to see what your going to end up doing

Re: dry nitrous question
a few of you guys i see are looking to far into things. there is a point where you have pulled too much timing or added to much fuel... i run a nitrous dry setup with a 100 shot setup, 280cc injectors and safc to control the fuel on my sohc. the zex kit works best with just start right away with atleast a 1 step colder plug. my n/a tune is kinda lean for gas mileage so i run 1 step daily and 2 step on friday and saturday night.... fuel will be fine aslong as the condition of your fuel system is up to factory "par". i dont like the fact of adding fuel through dry kits by fuel pressure like typical NOS systems and zex kits do. old NOS systems have a regulator that bumps fuel pressure like the zex kit does... the o2 sensor will not pick up maybe more than enough fuel for a 20 shot.. dont just inject nitrous whatever you do...

Re: dry nitrous question
Dry kits: Single or direct port only when used with a good EMS to control timing and fuel. The best results come from efficent applications, because they are reliable.
For a novice user, I would install a single wet nozzle for better fuel control. Just use a good nozzle and good plugs.
