I have lots of friends with both..
Both are going to wear out extremely fast on a front wheel drive.
The MT's will grip better than the BFGs hands down.
We wore out a set of bfgs on a 300hp crx in one weekend
If the car is being driven on the street alot and you want the best compromise between tread life and traction, I'd go with the Nitto 555rs..
I have the nittos on my 400-500hp [boost dependent] dc2 and they lasted over 5k miles so far and I bought them used. They grip nice, I went from leaving black marks at 80mph with toyos to wheel speed in first and good traction in 2nd.

Man U FTW
I"m not sure how you wore out the BFG's in a single weekend on a 300whp car. I drove my BFG's for an entire summer and 2 full track days at 315whp...they hardly show any wear at all

I wore down a brand new set 225/50/15 BFG's in under 200 miles not even doing pulls in any gear but 3rd and 4th, and I was only running WG spring in 3rd gear. I had the air press around 22psi. I think the life would of been dramatically longer if I had them fully aired up. What press do you run yours at?

Re: (96 GSR-T)
92 H22 hatch with 225/50 15s.
At 340whp and 245wtq tires would start holding in 3rd.
At 430whp and 335wtq they would hold in 4th.
At 525whp and 425wtq 5th would stick.
With 340whp, street tires, even stickier type track/street like 032s, didn't stick well in 3rd. My tires look like they will reach 5,000 miles. I have around 3K on them now.
