Downpipe sizing
I just bought a hatch (93 si, d16z6) with the greddy kit, bone stock.
The greddy kit has a 2in downpipe, that seems ridiculously undersized. I was considering making it the same size as my planned exhaust, 2.5 inches.
but I don't want it to spool much lower in the RPM range. I like it starting to spool at 3k, and full boost by 3.5
How does enlarging the DP affect spool time. People say it will "spool faster" but do they mean lower RPM, or is the time from onset to full boost just shortened?
And since the turbo is a mitsu (td04h?) Do we think a flange off of a DSM will bolt up? Anyone have solutions for a larger DP on the greddy kit?
Thanks.

Re: Downpipe sizing (PHiZ)
First by getting a larger dp the turbo will spool at a lower rpm that is what people mean by "faster". As far as the dsm bolting up i don't know. a muffler shop that can make a custom 2.5 for you.
