Default Downpipe Bolt Which type to use?

Which type of bolt are you guys using on your turbo downpipe? I need a allen type SS bolt but I can't find it at any hardware store.

We use just normal allen head bolts , or in some cases you can use oem pressure platw bolts they work nice and have a small head.

anybody use studs? how long are they? my flange on the dp is at a pretty good angled, doesn't seem like a stud would fit through it.

I use pressure plate bolts with lock washers... they are small so they fit great....

I also use stainless allen head bolts. I had to pick them up at specialty bolt store.

Thanks for the good information guys. I have the Stud kit but My dp has some tight fitment so it didn't work and if it did only 2 out of 4 would work. I've called stan. He doesn't have any Allen type bolt anymore. Thanks.

I'll doubt an allen head bolt will work if your downpipe has a tight bend to it, the head of those allen bolts are TALL, they usually won't fit. Then U gotta either get an allen head socket in there or an alley key which won't fit or tighten well either.

What I had to do with my full race downpipe was use studs coming out of the turbo with jam nuts (they are shorter in height than most nuts) to hold on downpipe.

Or option two is bash the hell outta the downpipe with a cold punch and hammer at the bolt holes to dent the downpipe some so the bolts/nuts will fit into their holes.

I'm looking to get either studs or bolts for my dp too, what do you guys suggest? I would like to use studs..but I'm not sure if it'll work cause it's a full 3" dp...tight angle..

Thats what I did and I also cut the bolt a little shorter.
