THe search isn't working right now... But my question is... Has anyone doubled up the OEM HONDA head Gasket to lower compression? Does it work? What were the pros and cons... ETC... The reason for the question is.. My wife has a JDM D15B VTEC and the compression is a little to high for boost and we want to lower it a bit... TIA

I thought the JDM D15b VTEC had high compression... That's how it made 130HP ... Is that wrong?

Can run a fairly decient ammount of boost on stock d series. They dont have near high compression as a b16a or b18c. With a diet of 100+ octane gas and some good tuning, your safe up to about 190~ whp
After that, stronger rods and forged pistons are almost a must.

doubling up the gasket i would say may create a problem, why not just get a aftermarket head gasket to lower compression? and with higher compression your hp goals will be easier met with lower boost, and high boost and lower compression

how is that? its not like he is using a 1" thick head gasket, but you will blow the head gaskets easier if you double them up

Just get a thicker gasket if you feel like you have to. You'll probably be thankful that you did.

imagine using a 1 inch thick headgasket....do you think the timing belt would even string?
same concept but on a smaller scale. the timing belt will still string but there's a small chance that it'll stretch and jump a tooth etc
