my friend had bought a ecu for his b16a it has nothing on the out side how does he tell what type of ecu he has??????

 

no bar code sticker? open it up and it should say on the inside

also, how many sockets and what color, for the plugs are there?

 

it say a bunch of numbers then p28 if thats the one he has then will it work with his b16a and for what engine does it belong to ??? thx

 

yes its a p28. nah that one wont work, but i do need one of those for a spare, ill give you 30 shipped for it. youll need obd2.

 

it depends what year chassis and motor your friend is using. the P28 is OBD1 but made to run a D16Z6 from the 92-95 Civic EX/SI so i won't correctly run the B16A motor.if using OBD1 then you'll need a P30 or chip the P28 to run a DOHC VTEC motor, which isn't too expensive.

but if using an OBD2 motor setup then you will need an OBD2 ECU OR chip the P28 with a program and get a conversion harness to use the OBD1 ECU.
