Default Does your honda do this?

hello everyone,
I just wanted to know if anyone's f/i honda backfire on them on a normal basis. My turbo hatch backfires on me at idle and it "pops" when im either shifting gears, relasing my foot off of the accelerator, or when i down shift and take my foot off the accelerator. Im running an cannon-stlye exhaust with a 2 1/2 in mandrel-bent stragiht pipe.

Just a curiosity question for peeps.

thanks

It doesn't back fire for me really. I have a straight 3" DP and exhaust with a resonator no muffler. when i let go of the gas or at idle it will, how to put this, "gurgle" It's not a loud single pop or anything just gurgling. I don't have vid clip, but if you could get one we might tell you if it's normal or not

I think the "pop" is due to the backflow of exhaust when you let off the gas pedal which shuts the throttle body. If you had a cat in the exhaust tract then you would not hear it. Mine does that too, btw.

Mine gurgles like an srt4 on decelleration. . (when I hold the gas pedal down slightly, opening the butterfly on the TB ever so slightly)

I have a 2.5" DP, carsound high flow cat and no muffler and I still get the popping/gurgling sound. Kinda of annoying. I need a muffler.

mine does it...I'm hoping it's because I'm running rich....because I'm not tuned yet. I'd rather hear backfire than knock.

My car does it all the time, It does it every like 1-2 second idling. When i shifting most of the time it does it too, It annoying but i just have to get use to it. I dont think it because of running rich because im hondata tune at 12:1 A/F WOT and i beleive around 15 A/F idling...

BTW Maybe i have 2.5" downpipe, 3 inch test pipe mated to 3 inch thermal turbo exhaust so there aint **** there to stop the sound...

mine backfired occasionally, but I was running about 1 foot of 2.5" tube off of my turbo.

I get a pop now and then, but it's not like a gunshot.

Kind of related, did you guys notice your car drops revs much more quickly once you are turbo? Like you are on the throttle and then you shift and the revs fall much more quickly then NA. I guess due to backpressure created by the turbine?

Mine started doing that and I was like "WTF?". Then I remembered that I put a lightened flywheel in.

Mine used to do that as well. When I changed managment to control millisecond time delay on the injectors, it eliminated most of it.

It's normal..Make sure it's tuned a bit, and enjoy.
