does my type-s knockoff sound correct to you??
ok, I've been running my LS swap boosted for a few weeks now and have a knockoff type-s on it. for a while it wouldnt vent at all with either spring all the way out. I redid some of the vacuum lines last night as I figured I might have had too much bleed off to the bov. Sure enough it vents now. I've had a type-s in the past on two other cars of mine and they always gave that long vent noise typical of a real type-s.
This is my first knock-off to try. As of now I'm happy simply because it got rid of the compressor surge I was having between shifts. Though, it doesnt sound quite right if you get my drift. It doesnt have the long slow typical type-s whine. It's just a super quick high pitch "stepped on mouse" type sound. It sounds a lot like the one in the video below only a bit shorter. Just curious if I need to do some adjusting or not to it. Or maybe find a different manifold vacuum source (maybe a dedicated one??)
