Does this look right? pics


In the instructions it says to have the arrow point towards the wastegate. I have the boost controller turned all the way down on both dials (dual stage). It should only go to 7 psi (wastegate spring). However it jumps to 10 psi. The power wire from the boost controller is connected to the switch, and another wire from the switch to a 12v power source. What has me puzzled is, if its hooked up wrong why is it boosting past the wastegate spring? I had a greddy tvvc manual boost controller hooked up before this and it worked perfect. Just got tired of popping the hood all the time to adjust the boost.
Damn I just wouldn't trust that rubber hose that close to the super hot wastegate. From the picture it looks like its practically laying on the flange.

The size of the spring limits how LOW you can go. If it's a 7lbs spring, you can boost higher than that depending on the boost controller setting. Just not lower than 7lbs.

I don't want to go lower then 7 psi. I want to run 7 psi on the low boost setting and my higher boost setting I want to run 12 psi. Right now I have both dials turned all the way down and its boosting past 7 psi, its going to 10 psi. The only other way I can see hooking it up would be to use the top port of the wastegate.

I know for a fact that is a 7 psi spring. The car has been boosted for almost two years. I had an old greddy tvvc boost controller hooked up before this and when I turned it all the way down it only went to 7 psi. Plus when I first boosted the car I didn't have a boost controller and it only went to 7 psi.

If you do that how can the boost controller see boost? There isn't a low boost hose and high boost hose. There is only one hose coming out from the unit.

Thats how you run a Electronic with a Stepper Motor...but that Turbosmart is different. I had the same problem when we put one ona car...6psi spring yielded 9psi. So were going to try a lower spring...like a .3\.4bar...should put us where we want...6psi low\10psi high.
I see. Thats what I was going to try next. However, I don't have a nipple of my compressor. So I'm just going to run it from an intake source.

I tried it that way and it still creeps to 12 psi. Maybe thats why everyone runs turboxs dual stage boost controllers. I've tried everything and I just can't get this thing to work. Any other suggestions?
have you called the manufacture of the product to see what they say about your problem it sounds like it might be a easy fix but i could be wrong.
I emailed them and they sent me 3 diagrams of how it should be setup. I tried all three and got the same results everytime, over boosting.
So are you getting you pressure source from the inlet mani? The time it take the air to travel through the long vaccum line could cause over boosting does it spike to 12psi and then drop or hold 12psi right through?

Looking at your pics its looks like your turbo does have a pipe coming out for a pressure source or am I seeing things? Also try turning the boost controller up a few clicks I have heard of people turning them to far down and getting overboost.. Goodluck.

Just curious, but do you have any problems w/ oil leaking from your return line? I have seen some problems w/ this when the turbo center housing is not clocked parrellel w/ the ground.
