Icon2 Does this look like a good setup?

Here is my setup so far:

B16A2 est. 100K +
Innovative Billet motor mounts
GSR transmission s80
Exedy Stg 1 clutch (OEM replacement)
Skunk2 proS Intake manifold (red)
AEM Fuel Rail
Skunk2 Alpha throttle body
NGK plugs and wires
MSD ignition external coil pack
VMS coil pack kit
No Name short ram intake
BlackWorks short shifter
P28 chipped ECU
DC sports header
2.5'' pipe to a Magnaflow muffler

I want to turbocharge my civic, but I only want to push 8-10 psi and I'm not looking to gain much out of it. I'm just testing the waters. It will be my daily driver, and money will not be an issue. Would the turbonetics "kit" be a decent starter turbo kit?

look into go-autoworks kit...And something better for tuning like the S300....Or whatever youre tuner recommends.

GEt a better clutch and youll need bigger injectors

Not sure about this VMS coil pack/ MSD ignition?? i would stick with OEM for youre power goals.

YOure intake/header woudlnt matter since it would now be turbo.

and stated MANY times PSI is irrelavant. How much power do you want too make is what you should be basing youre mods off of... Need to do more research!

I'm looking for 200-250 whp. Just a ballpark. And that's the site I was on, but I wasn't sure whether the Garrett turbo would be a better choice than the turbonetic one. And the chipped ECU has the basemap and all of that but I had planned on getting the s300 actually. A friend has it on his civic.

go with garrett...And i wouldnt use a chipped ecu for anything on a turbo set-up. Unless youre using a tuning software with it. neptune, chrome, ectune ect. I would get the S300 right away for future development in your build

Thanks. I think I'll lean towards the Garrett turbo with that kit. And yeah that chipped ECU was in the car when I picked it up, I'll pick up the s300 before going F/I.

Read the FAQ at the top of the page and educate yourself. I wouldnt blindly follow the advice of one person...no offense. Because, for example, I wouldnt suggest an S300 given your goals. There's no need to invest $800 into an EMS which offers functions you'll never use (but still pay for). You could just as easily save $600 and run Neptune RTP or CromePro. Hence, why you need to read up and form your own opinions.

And another thing, dont make goals in terms of PSI. Your goals should be made in terms of power. I would explain more, but its all in the FAQ if you take the time to read.

ditch the MSD ignition external coil pack VMS coil pack kit and also port match the sk2 intake manifold to the throtle body you can loose power if you dont. The sk2 manifold is around 64mm any tb bigger will need to be port matched for optimal performance, check sk website for the how to port match the manifold video.

And another thing, that Exedy stage 1 clutch is going to melt once you make more power. You need at least the Exedy stage 2 cerametallic 3pk clutch. I would also look into Competition Clutch, depending on price

If the manifold it 64mm most likely that is what will need to be opened up. The TB on the SKunk 2 alpha is 70 mm.

Reason i mentioned the S300 was for future develoment (plus its 500$ not 800 you already have a chipped ECU, youre tuner shouldnt charge much for install) while i agree it will have much capabilities needed for your build. Like most of us you will get bored of it and want to go bigger. Same philosphy should be applied to the injectors as well. Go bigger for future growth.

If you are 100% certain this will be a stock block daily driver for the life of the car disregard my above statment.

-Go with Garret
- Bigger clutch (id also reccomend CC) and Get injectors.
-Talk to your tuner about recommendations for Tuning Software as ultimatley you will want to use what he is comfortable with.
- OEM ignition is fine. Gap the spark plugs down to .028 You shouldnt need much lower with youre power goal
-Research more

I was looking at the Skunk2 550cc injectors. Would this be a good choice? I don't know much as far as forced induction goes obviously, so I'm asking these questions to get opinions, not to get 100% unbiased facts. I'm still doing my research haha. I'd just like to know what Honda drivers recommend and don't recommend. Thanks.

B16A2 est. 100K +
Innovative Billet motor mounts - great mounts
GSR transmission s80
Exedy Stg 1 clutch (OEM replacement) - look into CM Stage 3/4 or ACT HDG6
Skunk2 proS Intake manifold (red) - not a great upgrade for your goals but nice IM
AEM Fuel Rail - great fuel rail
Skunk2 Alpha throttle body - great TB
NGK plugs and wires - considering your mileage wires are a good idea, plugs are vital
MSD ignition external coil pack - save your money
VMS coil pack kit - save yoru money
No Name short ram intake - any good filter will do
BlackWorks short shifter - decent shifter
P28 chipped ECU - stay away from anything "chipped", look into S100 to save some money
DC sports header - not sure what this is doing in here
2.5'' pipe to a Magnaflow muffler - make sure it's mandrel bent

You're missing a few things in that list but I'm sure others will chime in on that.

Yeah the headers were on the car when I got it, I just copied my parts list over to save time from writing it all out. The MSD ignition coil pack and the VMS kit aren't installed yet, so I'll take everyone's advice and sell them or let my buddy throw it on his car until he engine swaps it. But thanks!
