I've been hearing that that alot of cops in CA are being a pain to import enthusiasts and was wondering wouldn't a front mounted intercooler totally give you away to the cops?

 

If you're driving around normally minding your own business you do not get harassed. It's only when you're at street races do the cops harass you. and if you get pulled over then you're getting your hood popped anyway so the intercooler doesnt matter. But to answer your question no, most cops dont even know what it is.

 

Yea .. i second that.. stay out of trouble and they let you alone..

 

haha in dallas we are soo lucky, damn, we will go places and sooo many times have we had cops come up to us "excuse me, you left your car on!" its so funny, then when we do a countdown and act like we can shut the car down on demand is even funnier.. cops dont know **** about cars out here..

 

unless you're in fremont, california... going to fremont in a modified import car is like entering a hot zone... just a fyi...

whatever you do, run a cat. They had a road side smog check just up the street from my house the other day. Busted out the dyno and everything. Supposedly the fine has gone from $2000 to $25000!!

Friend of a friend got busted. Not too cool.

 

For real though man. A 3" or even 2.5" cat flows almost as well as a test pipe. No point in risking the fine.
