Intercooler ???

Default Intercooler ???

hi guys i gotta a question for u guys
i went to my mechanic place today when he was tuning my car
and when i touched my intercooler it was warm , was that suppose to be normal ?

If you touch one end it should be warm, and the other side should be cooler.

i touched the middle core not the tanks, so is it normal for the core to be warm ?

Well yeah because thats the purpose of the IC to exchange the heat away from the IC.

Yeah, I wish I could go more indepth about it, buuuuuuuuuuuut I don't have my intercooler yet, lol. Anyways, yeah like Art said one end should be warmer than the other. Hey art quick question, how big is too big on the intercooler?

An intercooler is basically a big heat exchanger. The inlet side (endtank) should be warm and the outlet side (endtank) should be cool. As far as sizing goes, it all depends on your specific application, but generally, a bigger intercooler will result in a higher pressure drop across the system than a smaller intercooler.
