So, slight dilemma with an engine I have. It's a built B18B with the following specs:
B18B1 Block
SRP 81mm 8.5:1 Pistons
Eagle Rods
Eagle Crank
Ported & Polished Head
Block & Head Freshly Decked
Crower 404s
Unsure of valvetrain but it's all brand new valves, springs, retainers, seats, & seals. Looks like Brian Crower stainless intake and exhaust valves.
Turbonetics Turbo
Ramhorn Manifold
Edelbrock Victor X Intake
Edelbrock Throttle Body
The story behind this engine, I bought an Integra from somebody with a turbo b20 setup. He gave this engine to me for free with the car. He said the previous owners built this engine and it never ran when he bought the car. He said when they checked it had almost no compression so they just swapped it with a b20 and never got around to investigating. My guess is either timing was off or during assembly the valves weren't lapped or lashed properly. Now that I have had the car for awhile the b20 is starting to eat oil. I'm looking to repair this b18 and install it so it can finally live it's destiny in the car. The engine still looks like it's fresh from the machine shop and ready to make some power. My only concern is the sleeves. My judgement says these are stock sleeves but I'm not really sure. It would be unfortunate for this engine to have all this work done on stock sleeves.
Wow what a waste of parts. I don't even want to put this in my car like this. Seems like I'll be limited to 400whp. Maybe I'll find another block and send it to CSS first. It's a shame this bottom end looks so nice. My other Integra is making 500whp on a B18C1 CSS block so it'd be cool to have this Integra make the same without VTEC.
