That shop is stupid. Oil coolers are very useful for hot running turbo'd hondas.

Was your '99 bought used? If so chances are it was taken off before you got the motor. This piece is worth a ton from the dealer, so some like to sell seperately.

That's B.S. I have an ls/vtec turbo and made sure i got one for my setup. It's well worth it in my opinion. Finding one may be difficult, don't buy from the dealer unless you wanna pay big $$. Check in the calssifieds here or e-bay there may be one out there.
Goodluck.

They omitted the oil-to-water intercooler on OBD-2 GS-R's, from '96+.
Maybe that guy was thinking of an oil accumulator.

Re: DOES ANY 1 in here runs an oil cooler with turbo/vtec??? (IN VTEC)
True, plus the ITRs have oil coolers though the plumbing is a bit different than the OBD1 GSRs. The thermostat housing and the main water pipe are different. Also, I think oil cooler is a bit of a misnomer here. The oil will only get cooled as much as the difference in temps between the oil and coolant and depending on what thermostat (ie coolant temps) you run, that may not be much if any. What the stock cooler is really effective at is increasing the effective heat capacity of the oil since our coolant has a much higher heat capacity and has a nice system to carry away excess heat (ie radiator). Though the plumbing is pain, an air unit is more effective for cooler oil temps. Sorry for the long post.
