same as title. since the turbo came with it, is there a reason that you should run the lines. is it really recommended? will there be any cause of damage to turbo if water lines is not used.

alot of people run oil/water turbos without the water lines hooked up.
Sure it's not gonna last as long as if you used both,
but do you really plan on having that turbo for 100k miles??? I highly doubt it..

Re: (DontBlink)
you must run the water lines.... garrett turbos use dual steel ball-bearings... they expand with the high heat, the water lines must be used or the bearings will prematurely fail

Re: (LShatchie)
you can get the fittings for the turbo from atpturbo.com although they do want a pretty good bit for them
as for the water source, use the line that goes from the head to the throttle body

#984404 or #984004 in the required hose i.d. and fitting size.

exactly....people seem to be asking this question so much recently......
adding on to wantboost's response....a ball bearing turbo's center cartridge builds up a crap load of heat...the water coolant lines are 110% neccesarry to run this turbo properly to avoid problems later, like prematurely failing bearings.
