Do I need valves and valve guides?

Do I need valves and valve guides?
I am building a LS turbo with Crower turbo cams, valve springs and retainers. It has 8.3:1 compression ratio, and I will be boosting 15-20 psi. Should I get some aftermarket valves and/or valve guides?
If so, which ones are yall running? Thanks.

If your budget allows I would definetly put in guides and valves....something of a quality name. Its very cheap insurance if you ever have any type of contact between the piston and valve.
Also, why such a low compression? Low compression and boost on a honda is like 10 year old logic.

I am building a setup almost identical to yours. I contacted Earl and he said the stock valves are fine for that power level.

I lowered the compression just for added safety. I have researched the power lost throughout the powerband from lower compression and it isn't even enough to notice (i think it was 1-2hp from 0-4500 rpm and 3hp 4500-8000). So I figured why not.

I've got a LS-T in the making and I'll be using Crower everything. So I went ahead and bought NEW ferrea bronze valve guides and there turbo application valve stem seals. But I'm building the head all the way, due to the fact that they dont flow so good.

Just because they don't flow as well doesn't mean that the stock stuff wouldn't hold up.
