Would I need a cam to make ~325whp on a built D16 with no headwork?

what motor? If its a d16z6 or y8 then you may want to try out the zex59300 cam. People are making big power with that. I have it in my y8 and it gave me a good top end increase.

It's a Y8. I talked to my friend about it, and he said it would really only be good for 10-20whp, which is probably pretty close, so that's really not worth it.

20whp would be a pretty good gain imo from just a cam. It looks like most people with the zex cam are making around 20whp extra.

I thought it would be larger than that, for the price, I may as well run 2 more psi.

The other option is a nitrous kit. Darin at Titan, who will be tuning it, wants me to run up to a 75 shot on it, however my other friend is worried about the complications it will add to installtion, tuning, etc etc.

I dont think anyone could say for sure, not enough research/trial+error has been done with the D. I bet you could do it either way, but at what cost?

325 to the wheels is obviously not an easy task on a D

It wont be an issue. People have made 400 on stock sleeves, so with nice pistons/rods and tuning, it's only a matter adding enough boost.
