no, stock map sensor is 11psi from what i understand. 1.7 bar would equate to about 24psi, which doesnt sound right to me.

stock MAP will get you up to 11-2 PSI readable. You can run more boost than that if you'd like, but your senor cannot differentiate between 11 PSI and 30PSI. Just need to tune accordingly. I know several people that have a stock MAP sensor and run 14-18 PSI. You just have to tune off the final column in your fuel/timing tables.

You should be able to get 300whp with around 12PSI.

GM 3BAR will get you to read up to 28PSI.

I'd recommend a Motorola 2.5BAR though. They have a smoother voltage output compared to the GM sensor. It will read 21PSI

never mind the 3bar map sensor...do you even have an engine management system? All those nice turbo parts will not run right without one.

Ditto, the motorola would be a great choice, and i believe they are onl 30$ at Phearable.net , its mtbers site, 30$ is so much cheaper than the 100$ hondata sensor

Never a good idea as you can't enable a boost cut not to mention it isn't the correct way to tune...

I would never let a car leave my dyno without a boost cut in place.

If you plan on staying under 10 psi (max 11) the stock map sensor is fine.
If you eventually plan on going over 10 psi, get an aftermarket map sensor. Why? If you upgrade your map sensor down the road re-tuning is going to take more time if your engine management solution doesn't allow for quick re-scaling etc.

If you do decide to go with an aftermarket map sensor:

$99 shipped to your door. Plug & play, no wiring, with a warranty... Can't beat that.

like everyone else said, if you dont plan to run more than 11 psi you will be fine. Any thing else get a GM 3 bar or what ever you feel like.
