ditching blue box for the hack NEED HELP!
I''m buying the greddy sohc turbo kit for my 93 ex motor. I've searched around and EVERYONE says the blue box sux donkey nuts and I sjould at least dich it for the hack. So I bought a vafc and I'm gong to retard my timing aprox 3 deg. My question is if i retard the timing will my car run like **** at idle and normal under more boost? I saw a thread somewhere where someone had a msd box that controlls the boost a certain levels. Does anyone have any info about this item?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

As long as you don't retard the timing too much it will run fine at idle. I think you might need to retard more than 3 degrees though.

Hey, Your talking about the MSD 6BTM (Boost timing master) i would def reccomend it..you can have normal timing for idle then it gradually pulls timing as boost increases..it senses pressure from the manifold and then backs timing accordingly to what u set it at... it comes with a dial that lets u pull 1 to up to 4 degrees decrease in timing PER PSI..This is def a good idea to get one of these... http://www.summitracing.com has them for a good price right now.

Don't worry about the MSD box, you do not need it.
When you run the hack with big injectors (over 400 cc/min), then you pull the pressure down far enough that you get about 10 degrees more advance than stock all the time. Then, if you retard the timing about ten degrees on the distributor, then you'll be back at stock, all the time. The car will run fine, pretty well actually.
