Default dipstick problem

I have an ls/vtec turbo. My problem is that the manifold is a log and is blocking the dipstick. Making it pretty much impossible to check the oil. Has anybody encountered this problem before? Any suggestions to fix this? Thanks!

You dont want to run no dipstick. You'll shoot oil out on the manifold when boosting. Ask me how I know...

You can bend it to make it work.

Thats what I was thinking, does the dipstick tube come out of the block? If I do do this, I should prob do an oil change and then mark the dipstick where the oil level should be... What do you think?

Maybe if you grind down the webbing it might fit and fyi the oil level should not reach the dipstick.

Just bend the handle portion out to the left under the manifold.

I dont quite understand. There are markings on the dipstick already to show where the oil level should be. That is the point of the dipstick in the first place... Am I wrong?

Lightning- i can bend the handle, I just cant get the dipstick back in the tube once its out... So that wont really do anything.

Does anybody know if and how the dipstick tube comes out?

If you are really having trouble, twist the oil dipstick tube (the tube that goes into the block) to a different rotation and you can have the dipstick opening facing on one side (either beside the power steering or beside the distributor). You can also take that tube out and bend it slightly if you need a steeper angle.

I'm running a blox manifold which is similar. I would grind out that webbing and get a shallow headed bolt for the center of the manifold to free up some space. You will still probably need to bend the top handle portion of the dip stick to keep it out of the way.

I have very simular manifold i just bended the dipstick tube and it will bend a lot. i also put a slight bend on the thin wire portion. I went towards the ps pump so it sounds like it goes either way. aka a bi bent dipstick. lol
