itll take awhile to spool, but for the money, the sc61 is the best turbo you can buy, and honestly, I dont think youll have problems spooling the turbo if you dont mind waiting a lil bit. Hey, that, or a lil sneaky pete to help spoolup

Probably later than that. Will be a touch laggy with that trim, but make big efficient power high in the revs.

SC61 with a small exhaust housing(I think .48 is the smallest you can go) will be SWEET on a D series. Im going to attemp to spool a .63/.70 Garret 60-1 with my d15b7 Ill let you know how that goes

if you only want like 350 hp at the wheels why dont you look at getting something like the sc-50 or sc-32 these are probably more fitting for the hp you are wanting. Most 50trim t3/t4 would be fine for your app.

you can make your WHP goal with an SC32, its smaller and you will spool it just fine, but it will still have enough to get you to your goal. thats my recomendation.

my question is why? why a single? I dont think that I will ever understand

I don't understand why people swap in a B when they can build a D for cheaper and still make 400whp?

exactly, by the time you pay for the swap, there is your BUILT D. Hindsight is 20/20...*sigh*

def a nice upgrade but overkill for only 350whp,an SC32 would be nice for that goal.

ount know, for the same cost though, i say run the biggest turbo thats physically possible. There are always ways to improve lag, but when you max out a turbo, its VERY hard to get more out of the turbo. If he maxes out an SC61, world record D series POWA!

well,my theory is that at 350whp the SC32 will jump all over the SC61 on a D because of the quicker spool responce....but I may be wrong until someone tries it

LOL! I like your optimistic view...

But without fully building the D motor, it will be difficult to max out that big turbo.

For us "regular" folks who don't make those wierdo elephant trunk manifolds , the SC32 should be fine for all your boosting needs.

WOW thank for all the tips.... but does the SC32 will push hard from is spool to the redline.... now this is what im searching for.... what could be a good compromise between thw sc32 and the sc61 ?????

oh yeah and what is the difference between 350 whp on a D or a B ??? IMO a hardcore D serie still over a B !!!! but anyway it is just a personnal question....

Here's my input:

BoostedEd9 made 302 hp @ 16psi, stock d-series (did your raise or lower compression!?) with an SC50.

SO, you can probably get 350 or so maxxing out the sc50 -- possibly with a litte more compression, some headwork, etc, the sc50 would be the "best match" for a sub 400hp D. You might even be able to get more out of it.

The SC60 would be my second choice, just because I hate lag, and I do like to "max out" the turbo I pick (so it is used as efficiently as possible).

SC61 is getting a bit HUGE, so i say steer clear (it can push almost 600hp). There's no reason to get that big of a turbo unless you PLAN on making (or trying to make) that much power.

Either way, I say go with 10:1 compression if you haven't already, and an sc50. You WON'T be dissapointed... but you can go even farther with the 60!

thank johnyquest ... you have awnsered to my question... I prefer max my turbo than to get a bigger with a lot of room and btw to be less efficient.... so the sc 50 could be good to reach 350 whp easily ... if I understood !

How much I should pay for a brand new Precision SC50 .... aprox. ???

anyone know about what kind i should put in my gsr for 250-280 whp from 5-8psi? Would the sc32 be a good setup. I read that sc50's aren't as efficient as sc60's or 61's
