Default Differences between b-series heads.

I need a b-series head to fab up a turbo manifold. Its going in a 99si. Now, i found a b18a1 head, is it really all that different from the b16a head in terms of port height and overall height? will it work to fab up the manifold and d/p?

I will have my buddy pull up the flow charts he has... I believe the b16a head flows the best of the bseries if i am not mistaken.

You have a 99 si with the b16a2 motor/doch vtec. The b18a1 is the worst b-series head and it's not even a vtec head. The best stock head is the type r witch is the same head as the b16 but with different cams/internals. I would just keep you stock head and upgrade the internals if you really need it too.

I'm not running the b18 head, it is strictly for manifold mock up and fabrication, it will spend its life sitting on a block on a motor stand. I happen to like vtec and will kill to keep it

sorry, for some reason i understood that you wanted to put it in. Yes, the b18a1 head has the same exhaust flange as you 99 si.
