is it absolutely necessary to use the resistor box? why-why not? i have RC 310's now and i am thinking about switching to DSM440-450 injectors with a VAFC. i'm boosting 9-10lbs. is this a wise choice?

The "part throttle bucking" has nothing to do with DSM injectors, it's about the AFC hack. Anyone with *any* type of "hack" on the map sensor will experience a little more abrupt on/off throttle, although some people experience it more than others. The reason this is happening is because under deceleration, the Honda ECU cuts the fuel injectors entirely. That's right, no pulses at all. Not even idle. It's an emmission control measure. When the MAP signal has been knocked down 30-40%, the ECU "thinks" the car is decelerating when in reality you may be giving it slight throttle. So, bottom line is abrupt throttle response is just as likely to happen with RC injectors. Try richening up the idle fuel settings some. That worked for me.

Thanks for clearing that up, I always wondered what caused it.

Yes. If not, I hope you have a stack of spare ECU's. You'll need them.

What are you and some others runnin at idle? I currently have mine set at -38% with the dsm 450's. I had it at -40%, but -38% idles better. For 1k rpms to 4k rpms I have it at -40% still.
