Difference: RC440 and DSM450
I am getting in an argument over injectors and that there is too big of a difference between with the DSM's and RC's....
Am I correct in my thinking that the DSM 450s will work with my car.
Background: I will be running the VAFC Hack on my car and everyone that I have talked to has reccomended the DSM's.
Thanks.

The DSM450 will work if you use the injector resistors. I dont see why they wouldnt work, it is just a cheaper alternative to the RC's

I used them both on my car. JRSC @ 8 psi. I did not change the fuel maps at all when I went from RC440's to DSM450's.

Re: Difference: RC440 and DSM450 (You_Get_Vapors)
i've been using DSM's and experience the all-too-common problems of part throttle jerking as well as very difficult starts when the motor is warm (not hot, not cold). if you have the choice, i would do it right and go with the RC's.

The "warm start problem" is something I experienced with both types of injectors. I didn't experience any part-throttle problems with either set, but I understand that the part-throttle issues are a common symptom when using the VAFC hack.

Agreed, you should go with RC's, I think you will be a little happier in the long...Just my 2 cents.....

I've been using DSMs for a while...never experienced such problems...you sure is not a tuning issue?

It's a AFC hack issue, not an injector issue. DSM 450cc work fine.

I have the blue top DSM injectors and I haven't had a problem with them yet. well, on cold starts my RPM fluctuates until my motor warms up but i can live with that since i drive it right away. my car hasn't died on me yet and and i love my dsm injectors. hopefully after i get it dynotuned this tuesday i'll be running alot better as well. props to cheap parts!!

all i know is i've heard numerous accounts of people running the AFC hack/SMC with dsm injectors and having problems, then the problems mysteriously vanishing when they switch over to RC injectors. i dont know how you could say its not the injectors.

Huh? Switching from dsm to dsm and their problems go away? Confused.

Re: (25 PSI CRX)
i think i heard once that the older honda models already have a resistor box. but not sure what years they start.
also, the obvious answer to this question (differences) is basically the installing issue. dsm's are great injectors and best of all, they are cheap. ($100 for injectors and resistor box shipped usually).
HOWEVER, wiring the dsm's are a BITCH! sure u have a wiring diagram, but u gotta sit there, crimp this, strip that, make sure the right wire is connecting to this and that. it took my dumbass almost an hour to finish the wiring. of course, u save $200 or so dollars. but to top it off, dsm injectors are usually always USED> some are maybe even 10 yrs old. my biggest concern was my injectors didnt fit perfectly, and had to force one in there while the others just slid in easily. had me worried they might pop out while car is on.
ok, all im saying is dsm's are good injectors IF installed corectly and if they are in perfect working condition. now, im the type of guy who loves a peace of mind. so if im spending $3000 already on my turbo set up, i wouldnt wouldnt mind spending $200 more on some brand new, easy fitting, no wiring, will start up the first time injectors but thats just me.
