Difference in dyno numbers.
i just got my car back about a week ago. It was tuned on a mustang dyno. It made 295.4 horses @7000 Rpm and 222.9 torque @6000. Its a LS-Vtec set up and i rev it to 8000 easily. Why my tuner stopped at 7000 I will never know (have to call and ask him). With the Victor X manifold on there at 7000 it starts to pull even harder. So i know taking it to 8000 will yield even more power. What im asking is on a Dynojet dyno what kind of numbers would my car put out. i hear that mustang dynos lay down low numbers compared to dynojet dynos. My set up is B18a block, GE sleeves 1.92 liter, Arias pistons, Eagle Rods, JG proseries head (B16), Victor X intake mani, T3/T04E, spearco front mount and lots of other stuff. Any info will help out a lot.
I guess they do measure lower. Mustang dynos don't just let the drum spin freely...the computer adds resistance to the spinning drum so your engine is feeling like it is actually pulling your car down the road....that is what I was told by my tuner. I dynoed 205whp@10psi on a mustang dyno conservativly tuned. He said a dynojet would probably be 30-40whp higher.
He also said it is safer for your engine since the loads on your engine will be the same on the street as they are on the dyno.......
