DiD i Get RiPpEd?
I just recently got my b18c1 boosted then got it tuned at Labjunkies on Chrome. very next day i blow smoke like an old school train. Took it into MHR Peformance for repair. They said it was the head gasket so i had the head machined and new OEM gasket. 2 weeks and 3 long days later i get the car back. Oil all over the place. I mean all over, underside of the hood, my windshield, even my fenders. I drove the car home for the first time, lost almost 2 quarts of oil in 18miles drive. total damage $930!!! Now my car still smokes, bolt on the back side of the intake manifold is loose, distributor is missing bottom bolt, and the PCV valve brown plastic plug was not in. Oil and smoke puffing out my downpipe. very easy to see when theres a huge exhaust leak due to 2 missing bolts. keep in mind that i had a very minor oil leak from my return line when i took the car in. It would only leak when i spiked 11-12psi. my wastegate spring is 8psi. Did i get Ripped??? Anyone else have problems with the service at MHR? The owner is a cool dude. but would you blame me for being a little upset after waiting 2 and a half weeks for a head gasket job then paying $930 just to drive home with smoke from the engine and tail pipe?
Forgot to mention that after 2 hours on the Dyno, i can only rev up to 6k. They said my RC440's and BBK-255 pump didn't provide enough fuel to run up to 8k on 8psi. i tapped out at 273whp. no fun on a gsr tranny
Sounds like they initially told you want you wanted to hear. If that happened to me (blowing tons of smoke, loosing oil), I'd tear the block down the next day.
Everyone sees these '448whp on stock GSR' threads, then assume their motor will perform exactly the same. Cast pistons with tight clearances suck for boost, no matter what anyone says. The rods will last, but not the pistons.
273whp seems a bit low for 255lph-fed 440cc's, but there have been a few cars posted here with 450cc's that are maxed at 300whp. My guess is your smoking issues (fried rings or cracked ringlands) started on the dyno, which is why the injectors seemed to max out somewhat low.
