Default Devcon filled blocks

Devcon filled D16 block. Block is filled past the water pump port with sugar, then filled with devcon f-2 liquid aluminum. Suger is washed out and holes are drilled in the devcon to allow water to pass down.
The supposed benefits over a block guard are that it supports both the top and middle of the cylinders rather than just the top. A member on HMT said that his machinist did a bore job on a devcon filled block and said that it eliminated any cylinder walk when he bored. Also is supposed to help eliminate any cylinder flex/movement which allows the stock sleeves to hold much more power.
For those that are knowledgeable or have experience with this, is this more of a race only application or something that I could use on my DD? My setup is going to be D16Y8 Turbocharged with forged internals. Still unsure on what power levels are going to be safe for a very reliable DD. Discuss please and if you have experience with this please speak up.
THanks

EDIT: grammar

the HMT member youre talking about drove the car every day with the devconed block until he cracked all his sleeves. take that for what its worth.

no reason to devcon a D16 they dont seen to crack sleeves as easy as a b series.
