This is not a honda but a sr20det making about 350whp car is tuned really conservatively and we have even taken another 3degrees of timing off towards the end of the map (while we work through another issue) car doesn't detonate at all on the dyno, its a dynapack.
Tuner doesn't think it really is detonating, I DON"T get a knock reading in the lower gears but once into 4th and 5th it is quite severe. Seems more prevalent if going up hill.
THe added load have something to do with this??
ANy input would be good.

I should add I am not maxing out 4th or 5th not nearly just acclerating for a couple of seconds.

I should record my YZ490's engine.. that is detonation... sounds like a bolt is being slapped into the head by the piston... weirds peopel out thinking the motor is gonna explode...
anyways, what did you use to tune? is the AFR correct in these gears? it could be a per gear fuel trim issue, or tranny gear ratio setting...

You guys would love the cars at that shop trust me.
Nah dyno'd in 4th am using the knock detector that is built into the Power FC it most likely is going to be just a false reading I think.. Unless you guys think there is more load on the road then on dyno and the difference is enough to cause knocking... Its unlikely.

But that doesn;t give a knock reading I don't think.
this is interesting because ive got a turbo civic also using a power fc and it also shows knocking 70 in 4-5th only from 5.5-6.5K rpm but the car dose not make any noise or missfire at or really seem to loose any power. and when looking on the commander it reads 60-70 but on my fc-datalogit program it reads like 9-10. still havent figured it out. mayby boost spike? im not sure. more thoughts would be great
