Default DD ej1 coupe, 250whp in mind, built bottom end.

Well, i've been tossing around the idea of swappin or boosting again, and it's came down to boostin, just because it's fun .

So, i've acquired some parts, and am ready to start puttin it together and try to hit 250whp on a simple set-up, and keep it daily driven and very streetable but have enough pep in it's step to get goin if need be.

I built one last year and made 295 whp on a mustang dyno at 15 psi. It blew up and I parted ways with some parts I wish I wouldn't have sold, but eh, happens I guess.

This will be a turbo sohc by the way............

d16z6 stock sleeves
Stock s20 b000 trans
Stock z6 head, seals replaced, and head has been gone through

Probe Industries I-beam rods
75.5mm vitara pistons (o yea)
ACL duraglide bearings, they came with the kit so why not?
New OEM honda oil pump
New OEM honda water pump
New OEM honda t-belt and tensioner
ARP headstuds, pp bolts, and flywheel bolts
ACT streetlite flywheel
LSD motorsports 6-puck
New main seals, blah blah blah, you get it right?

Turbo parts:

Custom charge pipes, made by me, lol
Spoolinperformance log mani, 2.5" dp, and dumptube
Tial 38mm wastegate with 0.7 bar spring
EBay intercooler, it's massive, but who cares, i got a deal on it
GReddy profec b-specII ebc
GReddy full auto timer
Autometer oil press., boost, water temp and oil temp gauges
AEM UEGO wideband
Synchronic BOV, used a tial 50mm before, it sucked

AEM fpr, fuel rail, and cam gear from previous build. Goin with PTE 525cc injectors this time. I have a skunk2 intake mani I will throw on it also.

Now I can't decide on what turbo, t3 super 60, or the infamous t3/t04e .50 trim?

Chipped p28- gonna be tuned by Dave Blundell hopefully on ectune.

Nothing spectacular at all, just a simple little build with dd status written on it. I will be driving this car cross country next year when I move to SoCal and with them only having 91 octane out there, i'm not gonna get real extreme with it at all. The sohc in it now isn't cuttin it for me, and I had a blast with boost, so I figure why not? It's just a little budget build with some good parts thrown in the mix, and I can't bring myself to a swap just yet lol.

Let me know what you guys think, and i'm still undecided on the turbo, so any comments, suggestions from you boostheads out there are greatly appreciated.

I upped the boost, and started to tune it to 400whp and i'm not real sure what happened to this day. It let out a loud backfire, and the next run started pushin coolant real bad. Took the head off expecting head lift and a blown gasket and found 3 melted pistons.

I was wondering where you fell off to.

Why not use the FJT rods with the Vitara's this time around?

Yea, lol, had some problems and things go down last year. I've just been sittin back tryin to sort it out and all that good stuff. I'm glad to hear from ya, it's been a little while, I assume your hatch is still doin well?

I'd love to try the fjt rods this time around, but, I got the other I-beams awhile back and it's what I got right now, so i'm just sayin to hell with it and using em.

What's up with turbod16 anyway, I went to get back on there after I haven't been on there in like a year lol, and it's down?
