DARTON MID Sleeves
Just got my new Darton sleeves today after waiting for three months for them.
They are amazing...I noticed that the wholes on the t-tops are not the same, the patterns are different...cooling perhaps.
If anyone has any experience with these, post up your opinions. Thanks guys.

Re: DARTON MID Sleeves (Mad Chemist)
Actually I just ordered my new turbo. I should be getting it some time next week. I'll be using what Garrett calls the BIG KAHUNA. LOL
It's a T3 .82 A/R exh. with a T04R .70 A/R 66.5mm inducer. It's said to flow 75 lbs./min and 960 cfm. I got it with the v-band exh. option also. Hopefully it works well for me. Cheapturbo has a Civic with a GSR @ 27 PSI, fully built also with this same turbo and its at like 580 HP!

Yeah... has the shop you are going to sleeved a Honda block before?
Most shops build all kinds of drag / race motors, but the sleeving process
is way way different. Once they look at the plans (Darton usually throws in
an install process folder w/ pictures) they can get an idea of what they
are getting themselves into. I ended up buying the sleeves and then shipping
my block to Darton to have them install their own product. Worked out
great that way.

Re: (Sinitron)
Yes they have. Mississauga engines built my buddies motor. Serge Lisboa and his 9-second Civic, the yellow one sponsored by Evolution.
They sleeved his motor and I don't remember Serge ever saying anything about the sleeves sinking or anything like that.

You sent your motor out to Darton to sleeve? That would cost large in shipping and duties. Would it be worth it? How much do they charge for that service alone?

The machine shop that put mine in gets the aebs sleeves as solid pieces and thy are the one that have to drill the wholes in it. The machine shop I used setup my sleave like your darton's for better cooling purpose's on a cnc machine.

Re: (ELSpool)
From what I understand Gord left Leitner, it is now just steve as Leitner Performance and Gord Bush as a completely different company.
Yes, I'm sure we've all heard the stories about Leitner's sleeves. I'm sure that it really isn't as bad as everyone makes it seem. I've seen Steve's work and it's really good. I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason why some have been having problems with their sleeves.
Mississauga has delt with alot of people that I know personally and I've developed a good relationship with him, thats the reason why I'm taking my stuff there. I'm sure he'll look after me and do his best. I do know that Leitner has a really strong rep for cylinder head work though.

I'm not sure about this. Your best bet is to call Cheapturbo, this is where I've ordered my turbo from. They would be able to answer you. I'm sure you could port out your housing and fit a bigger wheel in it if thats what you meant. The T3 .82 A/R would work fine with either I'm sure...thing is with such a big housing there will be alot of lag if your motor doesn't make enough exhaust to spin the turbo quick enough.
Sorry for the double post guys...
I'm thinking of ordering the pistons and rods for my setup also. I was thinking of ordering Wiseco pistons at around 9.5:1, Crower rods, Cometic MLS head gasket and Total Seal Gapless pistons rings. You guys have any input on this stuff for me. I'm trying to decide on all this stuff so I can place an order within the next couple of weeks. Thanks again for your help.

I would not run total seal rings on your set-up. I personally do not have any experience with them, but everything I have heard about them is that they give large amounts of blow-by. I am a fan of the wiseco rings.

Re: DARTON MID Sleeves (PrecisionH23a)
When I spoke to Wiseco they said that these are the rings that they supply with their pistons. They have the gapless and with gap. I've always heard that these gapless rings do allow alot of blow-by but I'm ok with that as long as they do hold pressures ok.
