Does anyone have any info on the dart block?.......Like price .....reliability .......or any other info

 

Being tested on an race engine right now in a daily driven hatch they look nice and clean as hell!! if i had the money o would buy one for sure!!

did anybody ever find out if this block will be legal in sanctioned events, i.e. nhra, yada yada...?

 

i believe it is because the guy who has one right now is goin on the circuit with this new engine

looks like a honda motor how woudl they know wiht standard deck unless u got tall deck.... there two g's

 

I heard it isn't allowed in any circuits as of now and if it was allowed the only one I heard that it might be is in NHRA hot rod and thas it.

 

I stopped by Payne's shop and the price will be 1995. Included will be mains, sleeves, nothing else.

 

Take my word for it when I say you cannot find a more stout block for a Honda. Period.

The street prices I've seen is around $2200 for the block, and I think it's well worth it.

I know NHRA is reviewing the engine for use in Sport FWD and Hotrod classes. I don't think IDRC will be far behind.

 

For just under $2000, that's not much more expensive than buying a B18C1 block and having it sleeved.

 

one word:

Overkill

Even teams who run over 1000hp on stock bores are using just GE sleeved B18C's.

There is NO need to use a Dart block, unless....

The availability of B series blocks gets so low, they start selling for 2500

 

the blocks are legel in hot rod but not in all motor for nhra. they are still under revision.

 

apparently the availability is getting pretty low considering how many GSR's get stolen each week.

 

excuse my ignorance, but what is special about a dart block?

 

you can get taller deck to run longer rods
build a nice engine with an eagle stoker crank and keep good rod/crank/ratio

I think the block looked kinda crappy. The finish work was not very nice on it as well. Also, im pretty sure its not legal for racing either. If it does become legal, thats pretty gay because thats not a honda motor. To me, its like using a different mitsu. motor in a honda...thats illeagl

what is the big deal on legality. V8 boys do, have done it, and been approved...the sport compact/import scene is now beginning to do it.
