Default d16z6 piston options

My friend jsut blew up his delsol and we need new pistons. The block is off to GE tomorrow but we need pistons and are having a hell of a time finding a larger bore. I can find 75 and 75.5 but no larger. I want like a 77mm, does anyone make such a piston. He wants something strong like JE, Wiseco, or Ross. Is anyone able to offer any help.

Most companies will make it (Ross, JE, Arias, etc) but you have to wait.

GE should beable to make a 79mm, but you will have to get custom pistons. you can order any size from JE they will just be expensive and you will have to wait about a month.

If you are going all motor you can squize in a 81mm (ie b-series) but the cyl wall is getting pretty thin and i dont recommend it for a turbo application...for turbo keep to 79mm or smaller.

Well after thinking it over we are jsut gonna get a B16a. The D series jsut does not have enough aftermarket support and too many things will have to be custom made. Its a shame its really not that bad of a motor.

I'm running arias in my Z6, but I can't recall the size. So far no problems, and there is hardly any noise from them.

i think there is plenty of aftermarket support... you want an over bored piston which would need to be made ... and it's better that way cause then you can choose your compression. it takes about 3-4 weeks for them to be made but IMO the wait would be well worth it.

Im not looking to built a 12 or 13 second car we want another 10. After reavaluating it i just dont think the D series will hold up to it long. My main concerns are the head ports are so tiny so its gonna be hard getting enough power and the whole main i dont like. i can jsut see that giving up.

Ever think about looking into other car manufacturer specs. I remember Turbopanda was using supra pistons in his sohc turbo and pushing over 1 bar with them. I would look into that. Maybe JE makes a piston for a different car that would work for the sohc honda motor??
