d16z6 head with d15z1 bottom end combo. ptw clearance??
hello hondatech I'm building an oem vitara build aka as the but with oem parts d16z6 head with a d15z1 bottom end for boost.
many guys said that this will end up like a 7. to 1 low compression or a 8 to one compression setup. i will run this setup for turbo. possible high boost with a good tune.
i have a d16z6 head that is oem spec new fresh seals etc build. arp head studs and bolts. i will use the d15z1 bottom end
full crank assembly with oem coded bearings. the crank got mic and was all standard shop said it was okay.
the engine was a high milage everything is ok but the bore is close within the service limits the shop told me a hair over.
i haven't measure the piston to find the piston to wall clearance but is this acceptable? if the bore is service limits maybe hair over?
heat boost is that ok with using the oem pistons. how much ptw cleanse i can use with this.
i want to oem low comp build what would be this be acceptable for ptw cleanace?
thanks...

Your pistons will come with a spec sheet that will show you what clearance is required, the spec sheet should also give you the ring gap recommendations etc...

7:1 or 8:1 is such low compression. Don't do that. ( I don't know **** about single builds) I was told vitaras will put you around 9:1?
honestly, 9:1 to 10:1 is best for turbo IMO. Low compression is an old myth.
Also..... Piston to wall clearance is determined by the material your piston is made from... Vitaras are CAST I would say? If so.... standard .002" P2W clearance is appropriate..

you're coming here asking us a question when we don't even have the information needed to answer your question........... figure out the P2w and return..........

but the bores are loose side that the top of cylinder number one is wider than bottom. is that bad.service limit.
i posted a pic thats the specs i got for now
cylinder number one is the top in order 1234 bottom.
