Default D16Z6 bore questions

I have a D16Z6 motor and the block is getting bored out at a local machine shop due to the cylinder walls being scored by the wrist pin. The scratches are pretty deep so I decided to get the cylinders bored .020" over. The machinest told me that boring my motor twenty over may not take out the scoring and that he might have to bore .040" over. My question to all you HT guys is would boring my block .040" weaken my cylinder walls with a turbo. I have a a T25 turbo for my Z6 and when I get the block back I plan on running 15psi. Im also using YCP Vitara pistons...either 75.5mm or 76.00mm depending on if I get it 20 over or 40 over. Please help~~~

With that size turbo I would probably say no. Make sure it is tuned right and you should not have a problem.

My 2 cents.

what if I decide to upgrade the turbo - to say - t3/t4 or something bigger...then will I have to worry about my cylinder walls being to thin and cracking???
