Default D16y8 turbo problems...?

ok well i drive a 99 civic ex...AUTO ...setup is greddy kit with FMIC and BOV with vortech FMU

when i istalled it we had problems getting the actuator to lower the psi....but it was pinging at 5-7 psi at like 30% throttle ...so finally with a DIY mod we got the actuator to sit at 4 psi

well after a month at 4 psi i need more cause ya it sucks.......so i bought a MBC (manual bosst..).....and installed it...running 4 psi to start

First problem i see is that takes longer ot spool up compared to it not being there...it seems faster but it could be me?

second problem...my boost guage went from sitting at 20-21vac to 12-14 vac after installing it?

im not even sure if its working cause i never go to up the boost or lower it.sice it was 2 hot to touch....but i dont think it is cause i just put it in and set it higher to be safe at read 5 psi when i boost but goes back to 4 while still bossitng..which was at 4 before....and i dont think i got the adjustment nut right on 4 psi.

Also my goal is to run 7 psi daily.......ive decided to buy a HP walbro fuel pump and V-AFC...and get it tuned via wideband

will my car be able to take more then 7 psI SAFELY?
and wat kinda # will i put out..i know they will be lower wiht a friggen auto?

also do i need a FPR if i have a FMU?

sorry for all the questions..thanx in advnce for help

7psi should be no problem. go back to the way the stock actuator was. only use the mbc to raise it from there. you need to improve your fueling. get rid of the fmu and get larger injectors and afc or smc to control them and the map.

wait.....u were getting boost at 30% throttle, AND it was pinging? somethings definitely not right then, esp since u got the fmic in there already. sticking with the blue box and getting a better pump, injectors, and at least 1 step colder plugs would have allowed you to safely run 7 psi already

not using the blue box or black box
using zex colder spark plugs for turbo/SC appl.
94 octane gas

we decided not to use black box because the map sensor did see boost..didnt throw any codes or enhine light..so no check valve either

imma buy a walbro HP pump and V-AFV..hopefully i can run 7 psi and get the msot of the kit with that..tuned wideband
