d16 vitara trouble
does anyone know what the maximum piston to wall clearance is for stock bore vitara's? and what the lowest cranking pressure (compression) can be?
this build is about to hit one year sometime this month, but i've noticed the pistons have gradually getting louder which is probably due to the fact the pistons are beating up my cylinders.
heres the thing though, the car still starts fine if not better than it did before and it still hits and carries boost fine, but on the downside it is smoking some more than usual, but it always has because i never changed valve seals yet. the other thing is that it rarely uses oil even with the blowby, so could the blowby be causing the excessive smoke or maybe the turbo seals.
i'm going to do a compression test to see how much it lost from last year. it checked out last year making around 138 psi with only 1-2 psi variation between the cylinders.
