Icon2 D16 turbo question.

So I finished installing my turbo kit. It's a Godspeed .57ar eBay brand. Now I put it backwards so it would fit Ac. Now my boost gauge is reading -5psi. Why is that? There's no leaks within the ic piping. Could it be the position of it? Or how about the waste gate. I put a 5psi spring in it and still nothing. Even hooked up a aem boost controller/ gauge and again nothing it's just reading negative. Also when I went to dyno also negative boost the car was doing 120whp. Help please. If you need more info let me know please.

So its pulling 5in of vacuum? that would "negative boost".... If thats the case then you have a major vacuum leak, you should be seeing around 25in of vac. at idle. Unless you're running the AEM true boost gauge then you're seeing 5lbs of positive pressure.

Do you have a wideband?
Any CEL's?
Setup info...

so does your car at iddle is boosting 5psi? or at iddle you have 5psi vacuum?

i would start to intalling the turbo kit for what is designed. meaning install it the way they say its supposed to be installed.

second check the vacuum lines from your compressor housing, west gate, gauge etc.

What do you mean? Regardless if the turbo is mounted with the compressor facing driver or passenger side it wouldn't be an issue.

you mean 25 inches of vacuum at idle? lol.

OP, take a vid of your boost guage while idling, and blip the throttle a few times.
also take a pic of where the boost guage is connected to the engine.

Alright guys sorry I've been gone for a bit. Busy w/ school. But here's the thing. When at idle it's at -5 sometimes -6. When I drive and and I push on it meaning flooring it it goes up to -1 or 0 but won't go past 0. I'll post pics as soon as I get the car back hooked up right now I have everything off to replace the a clones to an ek. I'll post pics soon. Any other ideas as far as what it could be?
