D16 bottom end question
At what point do the stock sleeves give up?
Right now my setup is the following:
d16a6 bottom end
custom JE .030 overs 9.0-1
eagle rods
d16z6 head
crane street/strip cam
and I am planning to try and boost 15 psi
I am trying to get to 250 to 300 hp
and I don't know if I am going to pop the block or not...
Thanks people...

Seriously? The stock sleeves as in the ones created umpteen years ago?
<Well, My bad, I didn't look at the creds on the response>

Re: D16 bottom end question (turbine)
Sleeves barely ever break unless you detonate... and even still you most likely break other things before sleeves. Not to say it doesn't happen, but you can build a motor without ever thinking about the sleeves if they are in good condition, and make 4-500 hp with the stockies. There is a post thats up right now, actually, about someone selling a teggy (white, it's doing a burnout in the pic on the thread, just read it a few mins ago) that is making 500? or so on stock sleeves.
So in sum: Don't sweat it.
