Sounds like this is your problem. Did you use an aftermarket head stud or were you using stock bolts?

check your dipstick, if its milky, you cracked a sleeve / blew a headgasket. does the car run? If it runs fine you did not crack a sleeve... blown headgaskets put our more smoke than you'd ever believe.

sounds to me that if you broke a head bolt maybe . causing the head to lift and shoot coolant all over hte place . i dont think you cracked a sleeve.

what sleeves are you running anyway

compression is fine, i have no milkly stuff on dipstick or oil cap,

if the compression is fine, can it still be the head gasket. wouldnt i have oil everywhere too.

im running stock head gasket, stock sleeves, arp head studs.

by the way the spray of the coolant was left on the engine, it really looks like it came from the radiator or the overflow tank. since the over flow tank was full, could it have just squirted out the top of the tank. if so what would cause it to fill the overflow so much.

i have not tried to drive the car, just start it. the radiator and some other stuff are off the car now. i guess i can put it back together and go for a drive.

Sounds like you might be lifting your head under boost, yes even with that low of boost it can happen, especially on a D-series.

does that explain the overflow tank. why was it completely full,

how do you lift a head with arp studs, i used to run 12 psi with no problem. im running 3 less now. more power yes, but less boost.

if i lifted the head. that would for sure blow the head gasket. and my compression would be altered. it's not. also there is no leakage around the head.

im not saying that did not happen, im just trying to understand it , before i rip my head off for no reason..

If you lifted your head under boost, it would pressurize your coolant system pretty much instanly and cause your over flow to pop, I'm speaking from D16 experinence here. I've done it twice now at around the same boost levels as you. If you did lift the head, I would think your compression test would say so, but your never know. I think your going to have to pull the head to make sure, it sucks, but it has to be done. Otherwise, I'd like to know other ways a collant system gets that much pressure in it...

well i have swapped head gaskets so much, i can do it in under a hr. so that's not that big of a deal

what damage could i have cause because of this. is my sh*t warped.

also why im at it. what are d16y8 arp studs supposed to be torqued too. i always forget.

any recomendations of head gaskets. i have heard OEM are pretty darn good.

go oem . i have a cometic .43 mls on mine and i love it , had no problems getting it to seal. but you cant go wrong with oem.

stock head bolts get torqued to 49 ft lbs right? i went 5 over . so just go 5 over what the stock is and youll be fine .

it's pretty cheap, like 90 bucks a hr or something.

i went to see boosted hybrid. i did not drive 8 hrs just to use the dyno.

Stock head bolts are 53. Head studs are 60.

I also used a cometic HP in my "big block" buildup.

Last time I lifted my head using nitrous, I put copperspray on the new head gasket. I'm hoping that might help prevent me from lifting it again when I go turbo this summer.

I was told go OEM if you block in Sleeved and o-ringed, or go Cometic if stock sleeves.

I never heard of that before. I used OEM with stock sleeves, maybe if I have a problem again I'll try the Cometic.

I have GE BUT, the machining was done by Endyn. GE recommends this if they do the machine work. All of mine was done at Endyn and they use Cometic without problems.
