Icon2 D15B7 Turbo

Whats up guys i have a 95 civic Dx, i've had it for awhile now. Its boosted on 5lbs with the greddy turbo and manifold (internal wastegate) front mount intercooler, 2 inch piping. I have a AFR gauge that isnt digital, Im not exactly sure if i have a wideband 02 or not, is there anyway to tell? i run 93 octane in it and it idles rich, when going into boost it leans out and when i peak boost in higher rpm's sometimes it gets very lean so i let out, now it doesnt happen all the time but there are times i have to get out of boost, any input on this would be much appreciated. If anymore info is needed to help me out ill be glad to give it to you, i know quite a bit and been around hondas for a long time so im not a noob. When it comes to Forced Induction i kind of am, i know this engine cant handle alot of boost im not worried about any of that, i just wanna know why it idles rich and sometimes gets very lean when peaking boost. Thankyou

So basically you have no clue what's going on with your car.

Take it to a professional, have it tuned.

its not that i have no clue, Im new to forced induction. I know whats there and how it all works the problem is that its running rich, there is no tune. i suppose my best bet is just take it to TPG and let them tune it. Its -8 degrees outside so im not about to go pop the ecu open and see whats inside, but the way it acts at idle i assume its its probably just running on a basemap

Also there is an 02 sensor, i dont beleive it is a wideband though. Is there anyway to figure out if it is, thankyou guys for all your help, like i said im not new to the honda scene by any means, ive just always built N/A cars. This is my first turbo setup. Again everything involved in the turbo setup is greddy (internal wastegate) set at 5 lbs. The only cheap (ebay) item on the car is my BOV, no biggie though it works perfect.

How many wires are coming off of the O2 sensor? If there's only one O2 sensor, chances are it's not a wideband.

There's only one 02 sensor and there are 4 wires coming off it.

In your posts you say you don't know what is in the car for ECU yet you put it in your car description in your garage. A P06 chipped ECU, chipped with Chrome.

I'd hazard a guess your basemap is for a 1.6 liter not the 1.5 liter.

I'm pretty confident your fix is to have it tuned. Then it will run properly from bottom of the rpm range to the top.

I probably would leave the 6500 RPM limit being it's a weak block that's already boosted. Just my two cents though.

The ECU is a chipped p28. Sorry I forgot to mention that, also I've been running 93 octane. And I'm gonna change the oil because it's about that time, I'm thinking 10w40 should be good? Correct if I'm wrong. Thanks for all the help so far guys it really is greatly appreciated! The more knowledge the better guys keep it coming

I thought it was a chipped p06 that's what I was told lol, like I said it's been so cold I haven't really looked at it. Well today I pulled it into the garage (heated) thankfully and low and behold there's a p28 chipped. As far as Crome goes I don't see anything has to do with it. So I'm just gonna have to get her to the tune shop and have it tuned correctly. Like I said any input is very helpful so thankyou!!

I don't believe you have a wide band so basically your afr readings won't be worth a crap.

I haven't looked at my wide band in a while but I think it has more than 4 wires.

Yeah, thats what i kinda figured. I'm pretty sure wide band o2 sensors have at least 5 wires and there are a few out there with as much as 7, depending on the application i assume? At any rate i appreciate your input! im gonna change the oil tomorrow, get a fresh K&N filter on there and some fresh 10w40, oil level is perfect it doesn't burn at all, pretty sweet for just shy of 200k and a turbo setup i believe to have around 15k. Guess we'll see how shes running tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for the advice and tips, they really are appreciated!! I'll update soon.

Running better now, still rich at idle, and leans out during boost sometimes a little too much.
